The Molas 3D represents a cutting-edge three-dimensional scanning Doppler wind measurement lidar. It is developed based on the principle of pulsed laser coherent Doppler frequency shift technology. This sophisticated system emits pulsed laser beams and analyzes the frequency shifts of the backscattered signals reflected from atmospheric aerosols. By doing so, it accurately calculates the wind speed and direction along multiple lines of sight, enabling the reconstruction of high-resolution 3D wind fields across various spatial points.
To meet diverse measurement needs, the Molas 3D offers a wide range of scanning modes:
The system boasts a maximum acquisition distance of up to 15 km and a sight detection range of 10 km at an altitude of 600 meters. Vertically, it can measure winds up to 4 km in height. Distance resolution is configurable, offering options of 15 m, 30 m, 75 m, or 120 m and supporting up to 300 measurement layers. The wind speed range along the line of sight extends from -75 m/s to +75 m/s, with a precision of 0.1 m/s. Its scanning head provides 360° horizontal rotation and vertical tilt capabilities from -10° to 190°, achieving a pointing accuracy of ±0.005°, which guarantees highly reliable and repeatable data acquisition.
Designed for a variety of demanding applications, the Molas 3D caters to:
Built for robust performance in harsh environments, the system operates reliably within a temperature range from -40°C to +60°C and tolerates humidity levels between 0% and 95% RH (non-condensing). The external housing is rated IP65, while internal components comply with IP66 standards. Data can be stored locally for periods ranging from 5 to 18 months in standard .csv format. Data transmission is achieved via 1000BASE-TX Ethernet or remote 4G access. Additionally, the output interfaces include Profibus DP, Modbus TCP, and CAN bus options, allowing smooth integration with a variety of control and data acquisition systems.
Combining robust capabilities, flexible scanning modes, and extensive application versatility, the Molas 3D stands out as a premier instrument for advanced wind measurement and atmospheric research. It empowers industries and researchers alike to make informed, data-driven decisions with confidence.
This system offers detailed 3D wind field measurements with the ability to customize up to 300 distance layers, allowing for highly refined data collection over various altitudes and ranges.
Equipped with a sight detection range of up to 10 kilometers at altitudes below 600 meters, it ensures broad coverage for monitoring and analysis purposes.
Boasting a pointing precision of 0.005 degrees and a visual wind speed accuracy of 0.1 meters per second, this system delivers highly reliable and precise measurements critical for accurate wind assessment.
Supports multiple scanning techniques, including PPI (Plan Position Indicator), RHI (Range Height Indicator), DBS (Doppler Beam Swinging), as well as programmable arbitrary scanning methods to suit various operational needs.
Designed with a compact and lightweight structure, the device can be easily transported and installed in different locations, facilitating rapid deployment and adaptability.
Capable of withstanding harsh environmental conditions, it is built to survive in LPZ₀ᵇ lightning protection zones, ensuring reliable operation regardless of weather challenges.
Includes GPS-based location reporting and geo-fencing capabilities to enhance operational security. Additionally, encrypted data transmission prevents any risk of information leakage.
Offers versatility with four selectable distance resolutions and five different accumulation times, enabling users to tailor the system settings to their specific measurement requirements.
