The Molas 3D is an advanced three-dimensional scanning Doppler wind lidar, meticulously designed based on the principle of pulsed laser coherent Doppler frequency shift technology. By emitting pulsed laser beams and analyzing the frequency shifts of the backscattered signals reflected from atmospheric aerosols, this system accurately determines the line-of-sight wind speed and direction at various spatial points. This capability enables high-resolution reconstruction of three-dimensional wind fields.
To meet a wide range of measurement needs, the Molas 3D offers multiple versatile scanning modes:
The system boasts a maximum acquisition range of 15 kilometers and a sight detection capability extending up to 10 kilometers at 600 meters altitude. Vertically, it can measure up to 4 kilometers with configurable distance resolutions of 15 m, 30 m, 75 m, or 120 m, supporting up to 300 discrete range layers. Its wind speed measurement along the line of sight ranges from -75 m/s to +75 m/s with a fine accuracy of 0.1 m/s. The scanning head offers 360° horizontal rotation and vertical tilt ranging from -10° to 190°, with a pointing precision within ±0.005°, ensuring highly reliable and repeatable data acquisition.
The Molas 3D is specifically engineered to serve multiple challenging applications:
Designed for robust performance in harsh environments, the Molas 3D operates reliably across a temperature range from -40°C to +60°C and tolerates relative humidity levels between 0% and 95% (non-condensing). The device’s enclosure is rated IP65, while the internal components meet the stricter IP66 standard. Data storage is available locally for periods between 5 and 18 months in standard .csv file format. For data transmission, the system supports 1000BASE-TX Ethernet and remote access via 4G networks. Additionally, it includes multiple output interfaces such as Profibus DP, Modbus TCP, and CAN protocols, ensuring easy integration with diverse control and data acquisition systems.
With its combination of exceptional performance, flexible scanning options, and extensive practical applications, the Molas 3D represents a leading solution in advanced wind measurement and atmospheric research technologies. It empowers various industries to make informed, data-driven decisions confidently and efficiently.
Our system offers detailed 3D wind field measurements, allowing for refinement up to 300 customizable distance layers. This rich measurement information ensures accurate and detailed data collection for various applications.
With an impressive sight detection range of up to 10 kilometers at heights below 600 meters, the device covers extensive areas efficiently, providing reliable data over large distances.
Featuring a pointing accuracy of 0.005° and a visual direction wind speed accuracy of 0.1 m/s, the system guarantees precise measurements that meet high standards for accuracy and reliability.
The device supports various scanning methodologies including PPI (Plan Position Indicator), RHI (Range Height Indicator), DBS (Doppler Beam Swing), and programmable arbitrary scan methods, enabling versatile data acquisition tailored to different needs.
Designed to be small and lightweight, the system is easy to transport and set up, facilitating flexible deployment in various environments without requiring extensive infrastructure.
Built to withstand harsh wild environments, the device offers excellent survivability within LPZ₀ᵇ lightning protection zones, ensuring reliable operation in all weather conditions.
Equipped with GPS location reporting and geo-fencing features, the system enhances operational safety. Additionally, data encryption guarantees that information is protected from any risk of leakage.
