The Molas 3D represents a cutting-edge three-dimensional scanning Doppler wind measurement lidar. It operates on the principle of pulsed laser coherent Doppler frequency shift technology. By emitting pulsed laser beams and detecting the frequency shifts in backscattered signals from atmospheric aerosols, the system accurately computes the line-of-sight wind speed and direction across multiple spatial points. This enables high-resolution reconstruction of three-dimensional wind fields.
To cater to diverse measurement needs, the Molas 3D offers a variety of scanning modes:
The Molas 3D boasts a maximum acquisition distance of up to 15 km, with a sight detection range reaching 10 km at an altitude of 600 meters. Its vertical measurement capability extends to 4 km and supports configurable distance resolutions of 15 m, 30 m, 75 m, or 120 m, accommodating up to 300 distance layers. The system measures line-of-sight wind speeds within a range of -75 m/s to +75 m/s, maintaining an accuracy of 0.1 m/s. Its scanning head allows for a full 360° horizontal rotation and vertical tilting from -10° to 190°, with a precise pointing accuracy of ±0.005°, ensuring consistent and reliable measurements.
Designed to meet the demands of various applications, the Molas 3D excels in:
The system is built to reliably operate under harsh environmental conditions, with an operational temperature range from -40°C to +60°C and humidity tolerance between 0% and 95% RH (non-condensing). Its enclosure is rated as IP65, while internal components meet IP66 standards for protection. Data can be stored locally for durations ranging from 5 to 18 months in standard .csv format. Communication options include 1000BASE-TX Ethernet and 4G remote access. Additionally, output interfaces such as Profibus DP, Modbus TCP, and CAN are available, facilitating smooth integration with various control and data acquisition systems.
Thanks to its robust performance, adaptable scanning features, and wide applicability, the Molas 3D serves as a premier solution for advanced wind measurement and atmospheric research. It empowers industries and researchers to make informed, data-driven decisions with confidence.
This system offers detailed 3D wind field measurements, allowing for up to 300 customizable distance layers, providing finely tuned data for various applications.
It boasts an impressive sight detection range of up to 10 kilometers within an altitude of 600 meters, ensuring broad area coverage.
The device features a pointing accuracy of 0.005° and a visual direction wind speed accuracy of 0.1 meters per second, delivering precise and reliable measurements.
Various scanning methods are supported, including PPI (Plan Position Indicator), RHI (Range Height Indicator), DBS (Doppler Beam Swinging), as well as programmable arbitrary scan methods, accommodating diverse operational needs.
Designed to be small and lightweight, the system can be easily relocated and installed in different environments without hassle.
Built to withstand harsh outdoor conditions, it is capable of surviving in LPZ₀ᵇ lightning protection zones, ensuring continuous functionality under various weather scenarios.
Equipped with GPS location reporting and geo-fencing capabilities, alongside robust data encryption measures, the system ensures data security with zero risk of leakage.
Users can select from four distance resolution settings and five accumulation times, allowing customization to fit specific measurement requirements.
