The Molas 3D represents a cutting-edge three-dimensional scanning Doppler wind measurement lidar system. It is developed based on the principle of pulsed laser coherent Doppler frequency shift technology. By emitting pulsed laser beams and detecting the frequency shifts of backscattered signals from atmospheric aerosols, the system can accurately compute the line-of-sight wind speed and direction at various spatial points. This process enables precise high-resolution reconstruction of three-dimensional wind fields.
This lidar system supports a comprehensive range of scanning modes designed to meet diverse measurement needs:
The Molas 3D system achieves a maximum acquisition distance of up to 15 kilometers and a sight detection range of 10 kilometers at an elevation of 600 meters. Vertically, the measurement can extend up to 4 kilometers. The distance resolution is configurable to 15 m, 30 m, 75 m, or 120 m, supporting up to 300 distance layers for detailed data capture. Its line-of-sight wind speed range spans from −75 m/s to +75 m/s with an impressive accuracy of 0.1 m/s. Additionally, the scanning head offers 360° horizontal rotation combined with a vertical tilt from −10° to 190°, maintaining a pointing accuracy of ±0.005°, thereby ensuring highly reliable and repeatable measurements.
Designed for a variety of challenging applications, the Molas 3D excels in:
The system is engineered for dependable performance even in harsh environmental conditions. It operates reliably within a temperature range of −40°C to +60°C and tolerates humidity levels from 0% to 95% RH (non-condensing). The robust housing is rated IP65, while internal components meet the more stringent IP66 protection standards. Data management is highly flexible: data can be stored locally for periods ranging from 5 to 18 months in standard .csv format, and transmitted via 1000BASE-TX Ethernet or through 4G remote access. Furthermore, the system offers multiple output interfaces including Profibus DP, Modbus TCP, and CAN, enabling seamless integration with various control and data acquisition platforms.
Combining reliable performance, adaptable scanning modes, and broad application versatility, the Molas 3D stands out as a premier solution for advanced wind measurement and atmospheric research. It empowers industries with accurate, data-driven insights to support confident decision-making.
This system offers detailed measurement of the 3D wind field, allowing refinement across up to 300 customized distance layers. Such extensive data collection ensures highly accurate and insightful wind analysis.
Featuring a sight detection distance of up to 10 kilometers within an altitude of 600 meters, this device can cover large areas effectively, making it suitable for extensive environmental monitoring.
The system boasts remarkable pointing accuracy of 0.005 degrees and a visual direction wind speed accuracy of 0.1 meters per second, guaranteeing precise and reliable data readings.
Equipped with multiple scanning methods, including PPI, RHI, DBS, and programmable arbitrary scan modes, the device provides versatile options suitable for various measurement requirements.
Its compact and lightweight design allows for easy transportation and setup, enabling rapid transitions between locations and efficient construction of measurement stations.
Designed to endure harsh outdoor conditions, the system can operate reliably within LPZ₀ᵇ lightning protection zones, ensuring continuous performance regardless of environmental challenges.
Incorporating GPS location reporting and geo-fencing features, along with robust data encryption, the device ensures both operational safety and protection against data leakage risks.
Users can choose from four distance resolution options and five accumulation time settings, allowing tailored configurations to meet specific measurement needs.
